SEEING HEAVEN (18)

In this dreamlike British drama, Paul (Alexander Bracq) is a sexy young escort in search of his long-lost twin, who according to freaky visions is apparently being stalked by a slasher.

Then he gets involved in an unsexy art-porn film, which further screws with his head. First-time writer-director Ian Powell creates a moody, murky atmosphere, but it’s stiff, overwrought and rather preachy. It also hedges away from any real depiction of sex: boys in their briefs abound, but that’s about it. Even so, the film has an intriguingly gloomy, almost mesmerising style that makes it worth a look. (TLA). 6/10
