Jonny Woo returns with two new shows this month, a residency at the Soho Theatre Downstairs performance space and a one-off event at the ICA where he stages his own TV show. In preparation for a busy May, this week we go back into the closet with la Woo to reveal the secrets behind his unique style…
• Fuzzle Wig
Not everyone has a personal wig stylist like Woo. A few wigs pinned together stuffed with plastic carrier bags and you’re ready to go. If it’s a mess, perfect. So ALT.
• Boxing Tits
Put em up! Usually flat-chested, Woo makes a wry nod to the old skool ‘titty’ drag with a twist. This is his trademark – get your own! A pair of kitchen sieves could work, or even Tupperware bowls.
• Body Shaper
A must for every alt-dragiste of a certain age. Keeps the bits that move in place. Or go topless and let your gelatinous gorgeousness hang out.
• Wrestling Mask
If you are just too busy for maquillage or want everyone to know about your recent trip to the Caribbean Mexican coast. Alternatively go gorilla, gas or surgical.
• Football socks
No need for Nylons if like Woo your thighs are naturally smooth. But a sports sock lets everyone know how butch and hung you are despite the convincing feminine tuck.
• Satin Gloves
A touch of elegance, but remember to cut off the fingers if you intend to use touch screen products. Perhaps customise with a diamond ring to avoid the fingerless ‘Fagin’ look.

Jonny brings a new late night drag party to the Soho Theatre cabaret space featuring the best of London’s new drag army, plus some new international and national performance chums.
On Friday 4th, Woo is joined by new drag superstar Myra Dubois and the queen herself of Ireland, the inimitable Panti (pictured). Probably the most exquisite drag performer to come to London. Upcoming guests include Lorraine Bowen, Zsa Zsa Noir and Gateaux Chocolat.
