The MISTER app is set to launch in the UK with a sexed-up, horny club session of some of London’s finest DJ talent joined by one of Berlin’s finest disc jocks, Boris Dolinski of Berghain and Panorama Bar.
Featuring porn stars, gogos and performers galore, this is the men-only party you’ve been waiting for. Promoter and DJ Borja Peña reveals all to Cliff Joannou…
What is the MISTER UK launch party all about?
The Mister app was conceived by our friend Carl Sandler and his team in New York City. The app has been growing very fast in the US and UK and gaining a reputation for having a much friendlier, very different vibe. Guys on ‘Mister’ are all different types but generally are looking for more substance, more conversation and more follow-through.
I decided to partner with them because their attitude is totally right for London and for my style. We immediately reached out to [East Bloc promoter] Wayne Shires to help us put out a cool new party with a different feel to match the app.
What can we look forward on the night?
‘Mister’ is about being strong, bold and original – so we wanted the party to be like that. The ‘Mister’ man embraces both the macho and the mary. He isn’t trying to be a poser. Our party has a global appeal that caters to the music tastes of everybody, but keeps it top quality. For the launch, we decided to book international DJ superstar Mr. Boris Dolinski, a resident of Berghain in Berlin.
He runs one of the coolest underground parties in Berlin, Cocktail D’Amour, and to join him we hand picked some of the most interesting DJs and producers London has to offer including Pagano and Tom Stephan and, of course, I will DJ with the big boys, too!
So in one room we will keep it dirty and deep like in the times of Crash and, in the second room, we have invited DJs from all the most fun parties in East London including Songs of Praise, Dirtbox, Batty Bass, Boner, and Macho City. This room is going to be so much fun, guaranteed.
We will make that space burst with good vibes and energy. We are also lucky to have the Duchess of Pork, Dave Kendrick, Josh Caffe and the Sugarlow Boys involved too, just to name a few.
Moving on to the performers and pornstars, they are all a surprise as we want to keep the public entertained and shocked so we will be announcing them slowly as the event comes closer – even on the night itself.
Give us an overview of the venue space…
The space is incredible – finally a warehouse style venue that is raw, stylish and has nice heating, good bar service and a really efficient coat check. It also has a massive smoking terrace.
It boasts the best looking toilets in East London and friendly security. I know it sounds too good to be true, but ask around… anybody that has been to any of the recent parties there will tell you how amazing this new club is.
The party is men only! Naughty… we’re guessing it’s gonna be testosterone charged!
At first it felt a bit weird to throw a men-only party but then again this party is for a men’s dating app so we thought a sausagefest would be appropriate. Sorry, ladies! We still love you.
Also, we decided to do it on Friday taking into consideration the busy work schedule of our ‘Mister’ men so they can have an extra day to recover from the night of their lives… or to spend some more time with the Mister of their dreams – I’m sure they will meet one at the event!
