Spring has finally arrived in London and with it Jay Roberts started dropping hints to his followers on his blog, Facebook and Twitter feeds that his popular PLAY>TIME party was coming back.
We had to find out what was happening and as always amiable, polite and sexy, Jay was eager to provide the details…
Welcome back to London nightlife, Jay! What’s happening with PLAY>TIME?
We have been a very busy this winter. We were sad to lose Lo-Profile, but PLAY>TIME is our baby and we were not going to let it end. We spent the last few months finding a way to make it happen and then planning every detail.
Tell all, Jay, when does it start again?
First, I should tell you that the new PLAY>TIME is only one night. It is going to be the great Friday party that London remembers. 10th May 2013 is going to be amazing!
Why just one night?
I had been doing one a week for so long that I wanted to see what it would be like to do “PLAY>TIME XXX Large”, as a friend calls it. I’m trying something new and I’m planning PLAY>TIME on a bigger scale
to see what happens. If it’s a huge success, you never know what I could do next. For this special one-night PLAY>TIME, is going to be hot because my mate Francois Sagat is the star.
Francois Sagat? How did you manage that?
I have my ways. He’s really excited to do it. Wait until you see what he does on the stage.
Give us a hint.
Nope. You have to show up at Colloseum on 10th May.
Colloseum is a big venue. Does that worry you?
Not at all. It’s a challenge. I have planned the night so that everyone will want to stay long past closing. There are so many PLAY>TIME go-go boys that someone will always be dancing for the crowd, and in outfits provided by Justin Monroe (LA Photograpger) & CloneZone just for this night. We have invited some of our favorite DJs, so the music will be awesome.
Wow, now that really is exciting! What was the reaction to all of your hints that PLAY >TIME was coming back?
I read every email I receive from fans, andeverything on Facebook. If everyone whotold me they would definitely come shows up on the 10th May, there will be soooooo many people.
PLAY >TIME could be a circuit party!
For now, PLAY>TIME with Francois Sagat is “The Biggest Star on The Biggest Night.” I wake up in the middle of the night with new ideas, sometimes on the tube too.
When are you going to get up on the stage and perform for the PLAY >TIME crowd?
I like to be out among the crowd during the party. When I am at PLAY>TIME, I have a lot of fun, but it’s also work. I have to make sure all the details are right and I watch the crowd so I know what they really want. I
want to give them the right PLAY>TIME experience.
It’s impossible to forget PLAY >TIME. And you have very loyal followers.
That’s true. There is one guy who came to every single PLAY>TIME. He never missed a Friday night.
