ONE NIGHT IN HEAVEN

To launch Summer Rites Pride in the Park 2013, the team behind the magic are taking over London’s original and biggest gay superclub, Heaven.

Filling four arenas with DJs from all over the gay London scene, this is going to be Heaven as you’ve never seen it before! Clubs and nights involved include Popcorn, Tonker and Lovechild in Arena 1; Dish, War and Blocheads in the East Bloc arena; Songs of Praise, R’n’She and the Bloc Party in Arena 3, and Gay Bingo/Tranny Shack in Arena 4.

Whew! We’re sweating just thinking about all that dancing, and to fill you in more with what to expect, we’ve got three of the hottest DJs from the night to chat about what’s gonna be going down…

Borja Pena (DISH)

What makes Dish so tasty?

Well where to start? There are so may good memories already but the most shocking has to be when two guys in full DISH spirit started going for it like nobody was there blowing each other right in front of the DJ booth while I was playing… I mean I have seen that happen before in The Cock in NY or in fetish venues but I was not expecting that at East Bloc… And I want to believe that our sexy music policy got them in a very hedonistic state. The whole thing became quite popular and the Tumblr “East London Gays” did a little GIF about it. So yeah HOT dishes!

BORJA PENA’S TOP 3 TUNES

1) Sushi Darling’ – The Cucarachas
Cooked by Tom Stephan and I especially for DISH and released soon in Kinetica Records, it has vocals from Kevin Aviance from the legendary House of Aviance in NYC and a dirty bassline!

2) ‘Bump And Grind’ – Waze And Odyssey
With a sample From R KELLY: ‘My body is telling me yeeesssss!’ You can imagine the effect on the dancefloor.

3) ‘All The Time’ – Tapesh & Maximilijan
My friend Tom Peters from Berlin sent me this BOMB and I can’t stop listening to it… Sexy as fuck.

Adam Turner (POPCORN)

What is your favourite Popcorn moment?

There are SO many memories from Popcorn. What with it being a Monday night, everyone is always more than up for it. I suppose being hauled into a toilet booth for a photoshoot with a topless Adrianna was an experience to say the least, as was the annual Summer BBQ, which involved even more nakedness and hot sausages.

My first ever extended set on the mainfloor was an incredible experience for me personally, as was warming up for Michael Woods, just this Monday gone. With the incredible stage productions changing every week, and the ever-fresh DJs, dancers and party-goers, it’s hard to pick just one memory – but with so many up-for-it clubbers in such a large venue, week in, week out – you can rest assured that there will be plenty more to come.

ADAM TURNER’S TOP 3 TUNES

1) ‘Been A Long Time 2012’ (Zoltan Kontes Iberostar Mix) Etienne Ozborne Featuring Paula B

It’s just impossible not to jump to this one. Try it!

2) ‘Platinum Chains’ Michael Woods This sums up everything about the mainfloor at Popcorn – big, anthemic and just waiting for the gas canisters to fire into the crowd.

3) ‘Redux’ (Original Mix) Dubvision  There isn’t another floor on the scene which could handle the epicness of this one – it’s a Popcorn favourite.

 Tim Jones (TONKER)

What is your favourite Tonker memory?

Telling Gok Wan to leave me alone and stop asking for ridiculous pop tracks whilst I was DJing – He had obviously had one sherbet too many and screamed “Don’t you know who I am?!”

TIM JONES’S TOP 3 TUNES

1) ‘Let Me Show You’ (Original Mix) – Camisra
We have a wide age range at Tonker and this track always reminds everyone of the best clubbing moments.

2) ‘Carry Me Away’ – Chris Lake Feat. Emma Hewitt
An original favourite: loungey but cruisey all in one.

3) ‘I Feel Love Thrills’ – Donna Summer vs Green Velvet (Tim Jones Real Bad Mix)
We all love Ms Summer and this is the track with the groove to get down to.
