THE MUDDER OF ALL CHALLENGES

On Sunday 9th June, Team G-A-Y will attempt the Tough Mudder challenge with a view to raising vital funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Sounds simple? Not so much! When you find out what’s actually involved, it’s no walk in the park.

Team G-A-Y is comprised of G-A-Y owner Jeremy Joseph, G-A-Y’s Michael Mitchell, larger-than-life Heaven security man ‘Slim’, QX Editor Cliff Joannou and Boyz Sales Manager Rob Dean. The Addams Family would probably have more luck in completing the course. Here’s what they have in store…

20 to 25 military-style obstacles designed by British Special Forces. None of which involve a swish around Topman.

10 to 12 mile run. That’s ‘RUN’… not mince, ya’ hear that Team G-A-Y?

Participants face mud, fire, ice water and 10,000 volts of electricity. And no, there is no ‘off’ switch…

Tough Mudder is described as “Probably the Toughest event on the Planet.” And Jeremy thinks organizing a nightclub was hard work…

15,000-20,000 Mudders taking part in each event. Last year, there were 35 events worldwide with 460,000 participants. And now five queens, too…

Participants are expected to get over 12-foot walls and through underground mud tunnels – this is where teammates are needed to give you a boost and a push. We’re rather looking forward to Jeremy giving ‘Slim’ a piggy-back…

Tough Mudder is not a race, but a challenge – a challenge to test mental toughness and physical endurance whilst emphasising teamwork and camaraderie. LOL!

700,000 inspiring participants worldwide to date – and over 750,000 expected participants this year alone around the world. Great, that’s 750,000 people for them to look like a bunch of tits in front of…

A number of the course’s grueling obstacles can’t be completed solo, and all participants are required to recite the Tough Mudder pledge before starting each event. We think Team G-A-Y should be brushing up on their prayers first…

After a demanding, physically and mentally draining 12 miles, who needs a medal when you can have an ice-cold pint? HAHAHAHAHA! We’ll call the ambulance and notify the A&E department now, shall we…?
