Holland-bound

TheMenWhoFell2Earth interview Hannah Holland ahead of her headline set on the main floor decks during their latest East Bloc takeover this weekend…

What’s going on in Hannah Holland’s world right now?
Right about now I’m working hard in the studio experimenting and creating music for people to lose their shit to on the dancefloor. I’m also co-running my label Native City with Deboa, as well as DJing all over the shop.
What do you get the bigger buzz from? Studio work or Dj’ing?
They are quite different. One of my favourite places in the world is the studio, I love having a space to create, I feel excited every time to go in. DJing is where you get the connection to the crowd, which is like nothing else. Both buzzes are big!
What can the East Bloc massive expect from your set on Saturday?
An energetic shake down full bleeps and bass with a sprinkling of whatever the crowd throws back at me.
We first got to know all about you from our days of going to Trailer Trash.
It’s still so fondly remembered, isn’t it? What do you think it is that makes some clubs really stick in people’s minds?
Ahhh Trailer Trash! [sigh] Yes, great memories! It’s a special mixture of right music, right crowd, right venue, right place, right time… When it happens it’s magical.
Which emerging DJs or producers are you tipping for big things?
Shaun J Wright and Alinka, The Carry Nation, Michael Bibi, Ashworth, rRoxymore are all amazing.
Tell us a secret…
I’m a keen bird watcher.
