The Book Of Julia!

Princess Julia has been an entity approaching deity status on the gay scene for many years, and now you can read her official bible of fame, fashion and secrets What Would Julia Do by Rebecca Thomas.

Here’s a selection of her favourite pics from the sacred text.

1. You might imagine this is my home but in fact here we are at Tony Hornecker’s ‘Pale Blue Door’ which alas doesn’t exist anymore. It’s stylist Victoria Higgs dressed in Meadham Kirchhoff and me sitting with the beloved pooch Barney ‘Bubbles’ Le Clar dressed to the nines in a Louis Vuitton skirt having a fag of course. Oh how the other half live!

2. This is one of favourites, again in a cosy corner of the Pale Blue Door surrounded by Glitter Balls and wearing a stunning gown from Christopher Kane, nice tiara from Meadham Kirchhoff. This was a shoot Rebecca Thomas set up, a chance to play dress up!

3. I would love to own this number! A striking candy pink striped confection by Ryan Lo. I was going to say hat but it’s a bonnet really by Noel Stewart, perfect match wouldn’t you say? Anyway we’re at the Ace Hotel lobby by the photo booth, in Shoreditch. Anyone recognise it?

4. It was my birthday and look who we bumped into at the Nelsons Head, none other than legend Bruce LaBruce, artist and film maker who made Hustler White, remember that one? One of the best films ever… We had lot’s to talk about as he showed me his latest exhibition, it was well homoerotic!

5. What are we doing here larking around a beer barrel, main feature and creator of ‘What Would Julia Do’, photographer Rebecca Thomas and myself. Scattered around Sid Bryan and Cozette McCreery from Sibling knitwear. Plus a gorge one of me and Jonathan Saunders in the bottom right hand corner. When was this? F**ked if I can remember.

6. Aww, Rebecca and I were working on a pre-show sneak peek feature, she taking the pictures and I’m doing the interviews so we popped round to Ryan Lo’s studio. Ryan was having an anonymous moment, hence his animal disguise. Any excuse to get some fash-drag on!
