#JULIASAYS…

Article about gay London in QX magazine.

It’s all about diversity this week. Creative diversity, body and gender diversity and dress diversity. Actually it’s like that every week for me but – and I know this isn’t a new discussion – but sometimes it’s good to refresh the things we might be taking for granted as words get bandied around with, well, such abandon.

This Thursday 10th March, Bishi, lady of all things diverse and surprising, returns with an intimate and mesmerizing show Bishi and Neil Kazcor: Winds of Fate at The Old Church in Stoke Newington. Bishi has created a performance which incorporates a wind harp, her vocals, various instruments and visual accompaniments. Doors 7.30pm with support from Roshi featuring Pars Radio at 8pm and Bishi on at 9pm.

On the club front, things are diversifying with force! Abandon yourselves at Homostash – Queens edition – guest DJ Spencer Reed from Berlin on Friday 11th. Oh, they cite Freddie Mercury as the ultimate so they’re having a special Queen’s Edition at the Dalston Superstore with resident DJs and special guest including a debut DJ spot from Ted Rogers!

Over at the historic Vauxhall Tavern tonight (11th March) Meat takes over with a crowd that loves a real good time. Joining them is the diverse and abandoned John Sizzle, DJing with music across the board plus poster boy Adam Stoffski for a special guest DJ session on the decks. 10pm-4am for a fiver all night!

The one we’ve all been waiting for, Sink The Pink Ball: Church of STP is happening on Saturday 12th March. You should have your tickets by now! It’s at the Troxy, 490 Commercial Road E1. Dress up and freak out because a camper than camp turn will be coming from girlie girl 90’s group B*Witched sashaying across the stage in style. Plus all the extras from the STP crew… cavorting, high kicking from 9pm ‘til 3am.
