The Peter Tatchell Africa Extravaganza!

On Thursday 13th October, the Peter Tatchell Foundation is putting on an Africa Extravaganza to raise funds to continue its human rights advocacy.

Hosted in the breath-taking surroundings of Shaka Zulu, London’s largest South African restaurant, there will be a reception with drinks and canapés, followed by a 3-course meal. As well as this, an evening of African-themed entertainment is planned, from drummers, fire-eaters, theatre animals, acrobats, and trapeze artists. 90’s pop star Angie Brown (pictured) will headline the event, so expect to hear her house-tinged hits, including ‘I’m Gonna Get You’ and ‘Took My Love’.

Peter Tatchell has been campaigning for human rights and LGBT freedom for close to 50 years. His eponymous foundation carries out valuable work in protesting against homophobia worldwide, whether that be in Russian laws forbidding the ‘promotion of homosexuality’, the continued criminalisation of homosexuality in Commonwealth countries, and, closer to home, the campaigns to kick homophobia out of football and tackle anti-gay bullying in schools.

So, bless the rains down in Africa and help raise funds to ensure the Peter Tatchell Foundation is able to continue carrying out its crucial work.

• The Peter Tatchell Foundation presents Africa Extravaganza Fundraiser at Shaka Zulu, The Stables Market, Chalk Farm Road, Camden, NW1 8AB on Thursday 13th October, 7pm-midnight. Tickets are £75 or £65 with a restricted view and can be purchased by emailing [email protected]
