Well look at this, it’s Jinkx Monsoon and her partner in cabaret, Major Scales! They’re back after their critically-accclaimed previous run at The Soho Theatre, The Vaudevillians.
There’s something quintessentially London about Jinkx’s general persona and brand of drag. Which is bizarre, when you consider the fact that she’s from Portland, Oregan, and has never lived in London in her life. But her performances have that gritty, madcap glint of craziness that we know, and love, and live for in this city.
This time around, she and Major Scales are doing a festively faustian affair, a dazzling performance glistening with garlands and mincing with mistletoe. It’ll include quip quips, wry asides, and no doubt a song or too!
Jinkx has shrugged off the shackles of her wig-whipping drag race past and, unlike many of the Drag Race alumni, has managed to rebrand herself as a cool and credible cabaret performer in her own right. So go see her, you won’t be disappointed!.
