WUMP WUMP WUMP!
Right, so we are aware that Iggy Azalea is problematic. Her #culturalappropriation has been inexcusable at times. And she’s been known to be quite unpleasant to pizza delivery people. In 2015, high on her mediocre fame, she swept through Los Angeles leaving spent basketball players and disgruntled Dominoes employees in her wake. Quite camp really.
So yeah she’s, like, a bit of a dick. But who ISN’T. And she’s not racist or anything, she’s just…clueless. Not that that makes it any better.
But anyway, like her or not, she does make consistently credible music. Her first few singles were ear-catchingly original, and then when she burst into the mainstream with Work and Fancy and all the rest of it, it was a defiantly welcome splash of something different.
Now she’s BACK, with new single “Mo Bounce.” It is, in the words of Mark Hamill, the doyenne of Dalston, “a racket.” In a good way! A racket, a din, a nonsense. These are all positive things in our skewed vodka swilling universe.
It’s got a WHUMPING beat, it’s got sassy lyrics, it’s got stripper vibes, we’re on board!
