A free screening of John Waters’ vile classic.
This Sunday, those crazy Horse Meat Disco kids are changing their usual programming to bring you the EXCLUSIVE LAUNCH of the remastered Blu-Ray release of John Waters’ 1970 celluloid atrocity, Multiple Maniacs.
There’s gonna be a free screening, as well as music from Will Tramp and James Hillard. We got Lee and Mark to tell us more.
What’ve you got planned for this weekend’s Horse Meat Disco?
Lee: Thanks for asking! This weekend we’re hosting the official launch party for the blu-ray restored release of John Waters’ 1970 celluloid atrocity ‘Multiple Maniacs’. We’ve teamed up with The Criterion Collection and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to present a fantastic night in celebration of our favourite lady, Lady Divine.
Mark: We will be opening early at 7pm with pre-movie treats in the form of complimentary ABSOLUT VODKA MANIAC MULE COCKTAILS and PAPADIABLO Mezcal shots, sure to get you in the mood.
How’s it going to be different from regular Sundays?
Mark: Premiere Screening at 7:30pm on our Giant Cinema Screen and super dooper FUNKTION ONE surround sound so you can enjoy every single minute of the film, then our ‘Cavalcade of Perversion’ kicks off with weird and wondeful characters and creations parading for your entertainment, including our DIVINE photo booth, where you get the chance to look like LADY DIVINE herself! Horse Meat Disco Resident James Hillard will be joined by very special guest Will Tramp to get your party rocking, as only HMD can!
We hear you’re paying tribute to Divine as well…
Mark: We will have a collection of original John Waters and DIVINE movie posters and displays for your visual pleasure.
Lee: Natch! Eagle London and Horse Meat Disco worship at the temple of Divine every day. No drag queen can ever be named ‘Divine’ again…fact! We’re presenting a special collection of Divine memorabilia collected over 30 years, plus a unique photo opportunity to be ‘Divine’.
What other treats do you have in store for people?
Mark: A cavalcade of characters and creations will be on hand to get the party going, handing out Shots and other treats sure to get your party rocking. We will also have some competion prizes of Multiple Maniacs on Blu Ray for some lucky customers on the night.
Lee: As the official launch party, we have a cavalcade of perversions, naturally. We’ve got a sideshow of revolting behaviour in cages lined up. To entertain our guests and to protect them from these wild animals. It’s sickening!
Why should people watch Multiple Maniacs in 2017?
