Patsy’s Christmas Playlist!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS SWEETIE DARLINGS

This playlist comes courtesy of Whitney Weiss, debaucherous Dalstonite and one of the main brains behind the fabulous PATSY, a monthly club night at Dalston Superstore which pays homage to everyone’s favourite champagne-swigging schmoozer.

Ahead of their party this Friday, she’s chucked together a gorgeous amalgamation of christmas songs that sum up Patsy best. Think falling out of red convertibles, think shagging rock stars, think FASH MAG SLAG, think sex, drugs and rock and roll! But with lovely shoes.

Al Green – Feels Like Christmas

This is the cokiest chiffony Christmas disco song ever recorded. It’s stupendous!

TLC – Sleigh Bells

Patsy would also like a headphone set for Christmas! Plus this song turns a sleigh ride into a successful double entendre, which is no easy feat.

Mariah Carey – All I Want For Christmas Is You (Mariah’s New Dance Mix 2009)

If we’re being really honest, this list could be this song 12 times.

The Weather Girls – Dear Santa (Bring Me a Man This Christmas)

..and this song once or twice because it is the most criminally underrated dance hit about yuletide cheer and also wanting some d.

O-Jays – Christmas Ain’t Christmas (Without The One You Love)

Please don’t listen to this if you’re sad.

Pansy Division – Homo Christmas

“Don’t be miserable like Morrissey/let me do you underneath the Christmas tree.” Also an aside, bless this band for their tender queer punk repertoire.

Tina Turner – Merry Christmas, Baby *technically this is Ike and Tina Turner but putting his name first feels so GROSS

The only person of Patsy’s generation with arguably better legs than Patsy herself is Tina, darling.

Wham! – Last Christmas (Extended 12 Inch Remix)

Patsy appreciates the addition of a rollicking bassline and pleasure-delaying intro to this Christmas classic.

The Dandy Warhols – Little Drummer Boy

This song and its video are proof that Patsy and The Dandy Warhols were probably on the same drugs in 1994! Good for your Christmas afters.

The Coctails – First Snowfall

Patsy borrowed this one from John Waters’ Christmas album. Pairs well with Stoli Eggnog.

Diana Ross – Winter Wonderland

Diana Ross accompanied by a lush mid-90s orchestral arrangement! Elegant.

Kiddy Smile – Let A Bitch Know

Kiddy DJed at the very first PATSY in Paris a few years ago and is one of our favorite DJs/producers/people (and our special guest this Friday!) What better song to wrap up a sometimes scary and dystopian year than one about seeing toxic people for who they are and calling them out for it? Cheers, sweetie.

Patsy is this Friday 15th December at Dalston Superstore. More info here.
