Step into Eagle-Mas!

Here’s what’s going down at the Vauxhall den of debauchery this christmas

Hark the herald eagles sing, glory to the new-born drag kings! That doesn’t make any sense, but it’s Christmas, it doesn’t have to! You can say what you like, as long as you have some tinsel wrapped round your middle and a glazed-over, three-Baileys-down grin on your face! FESTIVE!

Sorry, that went a little Auntie Pauline unravelling in front of The Snowman. What a Christmas that was. Let’s collect our self and talk about Eagle! All because they’re putting on some of the best parties going over Christmas and into 2018, and we think you should know about them. Drag, disco, and Dannii Minogue; Here’s the pick of the bunch!

A George Michael Poptacular

Friday 22nd December, 8pm-4am, £6 adv tickets from www.buytickets.at/cheerup

We haven’t been able to listen to Last Christmas this year without feeling a little bit glum and it seems we’re not the only ones. Nearly a year on from his untimely passing, pop partystarters Cheer Up! are paying tribute to George Michael at Eagle with a night of his solo music and Wham! Expect all the hits, duets, deep cuts, and probably a few tears on the dance floor.

Horse Meat Disco

Boxing Day Special, Tuesday 26th December, 8pm-4am, £8

Gymkhana, Monday 1st January, 8pm-4am, £8

Two horses a discoing! The Horse Meat Disco boys are going to be spreading their legendary brand of disco goodness, not once, but twice over the chrizzy period! Firstly, they’re rousing you out of whatever food coma you slipped into on Christmas Day with a Boxing Day special. After that, they’re treating tender heads on New Year’s Day with all kinds of disco classics, oddities, and reworks. Make room for seconds!

Christmas House Party Charity Fundraiser

Saturday 23rd December, 9pm-4am, £8

Don’t forget that, as you tuck into your 12th mince pie of the day, Christmas is all about goodwill and charity as well! Think Christmas Jumper Day and Bono singing over-generalising statements about Africa. On Christmas Eve Eve, House Party London are holding a fundraiser party for Terrence Higgins Trust, with a simply FAB line-up!  Miss Sink The Pink 2017 Astinna Mandella will be up on stage, along with camp comedian Stephen Bailey, as well as a raffle draw and DJs spinning festive stompers!

Eagle Beer Blast

Friday 29th December, 9pm-4am, free before 10pm, £5 after

Look, we know that by the 29th that you’ve probably been drinking industrial quantities of Advocaat and port for a week straight, but Eagle are giving away CHEAP BEER, so just keep on going. You can do it. Just postpone your hangover until January when every one feels shit. There’ll be £3 pints all night along, as well as the euphoric house sounds of CJ Cooper and Tareq!

Push The Button NYE

Sunday 31st December, 8pm-4am, early birds £15, standard £20, £25 OTD

This is a BIGGY. London’s pop-munchkins Push The Button takeover Eagle for New Year’s Eve, with a party of Gaga-esque proportions. For a start, they’re celebrating New Year twice: once for Swedish New Year at 11pm, followed by an hour of scandi pop bangerz; then again at midnight for UK time. As well as that, they’re promising to crank up the usual sugar-sweet ridiculousness, with snow machines, pop-themed buffet, sing-a-longs, £3 Red Stripe, and all the pop you can stomach!

The Eagle is at 349 Kennington Lane, SE11 5QY. For more info head to eaglelondon.com
