QX PREVIEW – Kitschy Spanish/British fusion clubnight, Lady Olé

Everyone’s favourite British/Spanish fusion night is BACK this Saturday at Archway’s Club Kolis! Feeling down in the dumps with the January blues? Blow them away with a kaleidoscopic evening of colour and light. Here are some words from the Lady Olé crew;

 “It’s no secret that winter in London kind of sucks if you are Spanish… all those shopping trips to a jam-packed west end high street, work’s christmas parties, more food & bubbles than your stomach can digest, and two sad realizations: everyone has fucked off back home except you and you are not getting to celebrate ROSCON properly… Sad, innit?
“Well, not this year darlings! In fact, some of you going away should make it back in time to celebrate Noche De Reyes in London with the Lolas!”
“January 6th is when Spaniards celebrate Epiphany, the arrival of the three wise men (Los Reyes Magos) and the official ending of the Christmas period.”
“To echo what goes on back home, we are turning the club into a live nativity scene where YOU are the protagonist… a peasant, a farmer, a shepherd, a trader, a goat, a ‘fariseo’, a market seller, Virgin Mary, an angel, Joseph, a cow, an ox, a mule, a camel, a King …. a caganer (shitting figurehead) if you are feeling proud of your Catalan roots. You decide basically, but you must make the effort so the party really feels like a Belén Viviente!”
Lady Olé is on Saturday 6th January at Club Kolis, 10pm – 4am. N19 3TD.
