Discerning scene musings of the princess of East London!

Pinch and punch first day of the month! Did you last out January keeping up with all your New Year resolutions? Whether you went vegan, gave up the booze or the cigs or started up a new keep fit regime (or didn’t do any of the above) you should be feeling all rejuvenated for February by now!!!

I’ve been hearing all sorts of amazing things going on at Her Upstairs over in Camden Town, where in the cozy surround of their cabaret bar it’s always showtime. Watch out for Celebrity Not Another Drag Competition hosted by Herr, which launched last week and continues apace every Monday. Then every Friday catch up with the Bombshell crew who take over Them Downstairs with DJ faves Lady Lloyd, Tasty Tim and Cheryl Hole. 10pm till 3am.

This brunch thing has become a fixture at Dalston Superstore. Spice Up Your Brunch (Saturday 3rd February, midday – 4pm) is where you can witness some fabulous drag shows from Just May while you chow down.

Experience Mariah & Friendz: The ‘I Don’t Know Her’ Ball on 3rd Feb at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club 9pm till 2am. Inspired by top diva Mariah Carey, dance and drag from Baby Lame, Crystal Beth, Astina Mandella, Sadie Sinner and Margo Marshall with DJs Love ‘n’ Gold

The exciting club night that has become something of a cult – Gay Garage #7 with Scott Garcia on Saturday 3rd February returns to the 512 Club, which is at 512 Kingsland Road from 10pm till 4am. DJ posse Screens of Pleasure, Twice Shy, Jon Mega join special guest Scott Garcia!

I’m back for my seasonal run of Princess Julia Loves… at The Glory on Sunday 4th February. Come and join me and my special guest this week Johnny Bones for an evening of indulgence, ha ha! Actually, because it’s Sunday, my night is great for catching up with the gossip while I DJ! 7pm till 11pm, come and see me.

Art news now…Eddie Peake, who is part of club collective Anal House Meltdown, has his vibrant work in a group show at the White Cube gallery in Bermondsey starting up this week on Tuesday 6th February.

Mid week entertainment with SC&P LIVE: Black Gold Buffalo on Wednesday 7th February. It’s DJ Hanna Hollagram’s explorative music project at The Waiting Room, 175 Stoke Newington High Street 7.30pm till 11pm. They have a debut album with a single Pearls Deep which ‘blends deviant rock ‘n’ roll with a deviant edge’ out in the spring.
