#JULIASAYS – Discerning scene musings of the princess of East London!

I love when venues transport themselves into other settings…The White Cubicle Toilet Gallery is bringing artist Rafal Zajko to The Queen Adelaide pub, transforming its basement into an art gallery on Thursday 15th March. Dubbed “Unputdownable”, the show is launching with entertainment from F.L.E.U.R, Lindsey Mendick, Sponge Bob No Pants, Biggie and Babe and special guest Ally, of Ally Capellino. It’s curated by Alex Padfield. 9pm – 3am.

When you feel like something a bit different, why not go to Soul Attic for their March Happening. Join rare soul obsessives Fred Mann and Ronnie King with Guest DJ Rhys Webb of The Horrors fame. That’s on Friday 16th at Farr’s School of Dancing, 17-19 Dalston Lane. It’s Fred’s belated birthday, so be prepared for some nifty moves and fantastic rarities on the Northern Soul tip. 9pm – 1am.

Over in south London this weekend? HOMO Vauxhall – Opening Party at the Eagle on Friday 16th from 9pm till 4am, is where resident DJs Panos Z and Sina Sparrow take to the decks, playing queer anthems, with a performance from Stella Meltdown.

It’s a brunching special on Saturday 17th! Xnthony’s Punch Drunk Brunch is at the Dalston Superstore, midday till 4pm. Then later I’ll be joining the crew for BUM.P at Dalston Superstore upstairs, with Jacqui Potato and Dove, while in the basement SocksLove (Milan) and Mark Ashley Dupe. It’s going to maje! From 9pm till 3am.

Cybil’s House are taking you back to school with an homage to the 90s and 00s; it’s called Schooled! and it’s on Saturday 17th March at BJ’s White Swan, 556 Commercial Road. A night of music and performance from Cybil War. Dress up with Frieda Slaves, Vivien Mobile Disco and Grace Shush. Performers include Bourgeoise, Saffron Slayter, Mynxie Monroe on from 10 till 4am.

This month, the infamous Nag Nag Nag returns on Saturday 17th at Sedition, 217 City Road. An amazing night with heaps of legacy with DJs Jonny Slut and Fil OK and special guest Hannah Holland for a dose of electro dance till 6am.

The Glory bring us a weekend of entertainment, starting off with a show from the notorious Sex Shells with the theme of Disney Delights on Friday 16th March. They’re going to sing your fave cartoon anthems and more. This is a fundraiser in anticipation of their Edinburgh fest run later this year. 7.30pm till 2am.

Then on Saturday 17th it’s Sodom & Begorrah, a St Patrick’s Day homage spectacular in the best possible taste, a night of cabaret, drag and live music around everything Irish! 9pm till 3am. I’m back at The Glory on Sunday 18th for another round of Princess Julia Loves…my special guest this week is the wonderful Felix Le Freak. And I’ll be there from 7 till 11pm.
