Every Tuesday upstairs at The Retro Bar, 2 George Street, WC2 is quiz night. It’s a bit of an institution, with special guests hosting the evening’s entertainment. Catch Heidi Heelz on her kazoo, with Lenard Pink, Mrs Moore and myself Princess Julia on rotation taking to the mic to quiz you on all and sundry. Carry On Quizzing starts at 8pm, prizes galore and a lot of laughs!
Over at The Glory, join Meat on Friday 20th April from 10pm till 2am for their takeover. The Meat Boys will be DJing in the bar, and downstairs in The Hole DJs Super Drama make their Meat debut. Plus cabaret performance from Dave the Bear and a whole host of energetic gogo boys!
And one for your diaries – on Wednesday 2nd May, Lipsync1000 begins with its first heat at 8pm at The Glory. Jonny Woo hosts this cult competition where it’s time to unleash your inner drag and perform in front of celeb judges and an enthusiastic crowd of admirers, including myself! 8 heats, 1 final and £1000 to the winner! On Saturday April 21st, ShayShay’s High Wasted Femmetopia at VFD is where international drag activist ShayShay hosts a night of performance from super toupe Sophie Brain, Holly Styrene and ShayShay. Music DJed by Slim Chance and a chance to immerse yourself in all thing radical and femme. From 9pm till 3am.
Spring Ball (Supershow VI) is presented by The Cocoa Butter Club and hosted by the KOC initiative at Her Upstairs on Saturday 21st from 6pm with shows galore including film screenings and comedy turns. Then nip down to Them Downstairs for the next installment from 11pm for the Cocoa & Shea Afterparty with Kartel Brown spinning the tunes till 3am.
