The new nightlife concept from London’s slickest fetish brand
We’re sure that any cosmopolitan homosexual rifling through these pages will be familiar with Recon, but perhaps there are some out there who aren’t. Basically, it’s an online community for guys into fetish where they can find others with similar kinks. Think of it like a LinkedIn for leather daddies, or a Facebook for fisters. It’s a welcoming and tight knit community for a group of people who tend to operate in the shadows elsewhere.
Every so often, they’ll put on a party for their members and the capital’s fetish fans, always putting a bit of thought into them. It’s not just a bowl of condoms and a Beatport podcast (although that actually sounds alright). Their UnSensored event this Friday is a prime example of the creativity that goes into each one. They’re taking over the dark and sleazy arches of Fire in Vauxhall and fitting out the different rooms with a series of interactive experiences that promise to tantalise your senses in a unique way. Sounds interesting, right?
Here’s a taster of some of the rooms they’ve got lined up for you…
Smoke
Recon debuted this concept at their annual New Years Eve Eve last year and safe to say, people got fully on board with it! A small room is pumped full of thick smoke and those wishing to enter are handed a gas mask, whipping away your all your senses apart from touch. No choice but to feel your way around!
Inflatables
90s gameshow vibes in this room, with a load of inflatables and balloons to frolic about in. Why? Why not. They’ve even got one of those zorb balls that people roll down hills in on stag dos. When was the last time you saw one of those in a club, eh?
Pitch Black
Sometimes the oldies are the best. Put some glory holes up, cut the lights completely and ever-intuitive party-goers will find a way to have some fun! Almost too easy really.
Gunge
Gunge is very IN at the moment, but there’s no denying it can be a bit of effort doing it at home; a lot of plastic sheets and anxious glances at the carpet. To save you the hoo-ha, Recon are very considerately putting on a gunge section with two full pools for people to grapple and bathe in. There are showers next door as well, so you don’t have to spend the rest of the evening after a dip looking like a swamp monster. Best to bring a towel with you though.
Foam
Not just the preserve of student nights and provincial clubs, foam is always a blast! Under the watchful eye of a lifeguard, cannons will be pumping out bubbles all night long for horny revellers to dance and play in. What happens under the foam, stays under the foam!
Dance floor
When you need a break from experimenting with your faculties, head to the packed dance floor for the filthy techno beats of DJs Blue Kandi and Gordon John!
