We all love a flashback! They’re all the rage! Especially when we’re brought bang up to date, with reverence and the relevance of today’s mod cons.

Check out cult superstar Lanah P, who has released a remix of track ‘Pistol In My Pocket’ originally out in 1986 and now, with the Erasure touch, is out again for 2018. Camp and pacey, the original video was filmed at the notorious Taboo Club (major flashback!)…there’s a new video up for you to peruse as well;

 

The summer season is well and truly upon us. I can’t get enough of David Hoyle’s Gymnasium! The next one is on Thursday 28th June at The Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club. I went last month and as you know David has always got something to say on the state of the nation and everything else in between, so we look forward to more repartee! His special guests this month are Gerry Potter and Shakona Fire! 7pm till 1am.

The Pale Blue Door is back with us this weekend. It’s a pop-up dining experience set in the surround of deepest East London. Set designer Tony Hornecker invites you into his quirky studio space from Wednesday 27th June to Sunday 1st June for a fest themed evening with A Man To Pet performing and DJ Ninebob providing atmospheric tunage. tonyhornecker.com for last minute bookings! Skipping down Hackney Road has never been more joyous, especially when you end up at The Queen Adelaide for Bikini Death Race on Thursday 28th June from 10pm till 1am. It’s basement bash launch with electroclash duo from said Bikini Death Race performing their debut album Party Animals! Then on Friday 29th at The Queen Adelaide Just May does DJing (kinda) where Spice Girls fan Just May takes to the decks from 10pm till 3am.

Hovering around Haggerston this weekend? Then get Trashed! #2 on Friday 29th at The Glory 10pm – 2am. Miss Taylor Trash leaps into the limelight tonight and exposes us all to her best sense of humour! They’re amazing!!!!! Special guest DJs and performances throughout the night! 

When a shop turns into a disco, oh and an indie club…NYC ‘77: CBGBs vs Studio 54 at Paper Dress Vintage situated in Hackney Central, on Saturday 30th where two nostalgic moments in club history come together for an update! DJs and live music covering inspirational music, with and including The Screaming Heebee Geebees, Bridport dagger playing Suicide, Nu Vandals, Dave Fudge, Mr Boogie, Harlen Bretz, Barbarella Disco Dome and plus I’ll be joining the DJ line up too!

Back on the beaten track up Dalston way, Fèmmme Fraîche #017 with Smokin Jo is at Dalston Superstore on Saturday 30th is back for an incredible night of pulsating basement beats with the vivacious Smokin’ Jo.  9pm till 3am. Upstairs DJs Eliza Rose joins residents Linzi Symons and Darren Skene with an array of classics!

Cult club Kaos is back and presents Silent Servant at Electrowerkz on Saturday 30th, 11.30 till 7am. This is a night where hedonists lose themselves in a major whirl! Don’t miss out and catch the DJ art of Silent Servant and his  ‘forward thinking electronic music of today’.

OMG! The much loved Daddy Issues celebrates its London 2nd Birthday with Super Drama and Detox on Saturday 30th at Bleach Blanket Babylon. What a gang joining Super Drama is resident DJ Borja Peña plus on the terrace Dom Top and Dorian Grey. Hosted by Detox, Olly Wood, Taylor Trash and Sergio Sardo and watch out because the ever fab Winn Austin is on the door! 10pm till 3.30am.

This Sunday July 1st, well it’s going to be a first for me! I’m joining the Horse Meat Disco gang for a turn on the DJ decks!!!! OMG I’m so excited for this one…Jeffrey Hinton is on too, it’s like family reunion!!! Come and join us for the disco round till 4am! 

Next week is going to be mental, but ahead of Gay Pride in London I’m super excited to tell you about AHMD PRIDE at Bloc South on Saturday 7th July. From 10pm till 6am, the artists of Anal House Meltdown are putting on a party, with special guest DJ Lauren Flax!
