JULIASAYS – Discerning scene musings from the princess of East London!

Everywhere I look, I’m witnessing a city so full of talent. It’s actually quite beyond how many people are carving out such brilliant careers in the arts. However you choose to express yourself, club life is very much a part of the scene of expression.

As usual, I start the weekend on a Thursday, and this week I’ve found RUMBLE at Fontaine’s basement bar the ‘Bamboo Lounge’, 176 Stoke Newington Road. It’s on from 8pm till midnight on Thursday 16th and presented by The Cave Club, whose cult nights have been going for quite a few years now. Spider Webb will be playing a selection of faves, ranging from surf to exotica, rock and roll to Latin. Plus, it’s free to get in!

Get ready for Trouble – Friday Night Drag Tag Brawl at The Glory this Friday 17th, where from 9pm till 2am you can drink at the bar (up and downstairs), catch up with friends IRL and be entertained by Jacqui Potato and Ginger Johnson, who will be leading you into all sorts of trouble with their unique and spontaneous drag shows. Plus they’ll be doing a bit of DJing in the basement and I’ll be in the bar DJing too!

But of course this is going to be maje! Madonna – 60 Years of The Queen of Pop on Friday 17th at The Grand in Clapham. Celebrating everything Madonna, #LUVMDNA presents an immersive evening of Madonna madness with exclusive cabaret shows from HERR, Cheryl Hole, Margo Marshall, Tayce and Vanity Von Glow, who will all be channeling our queen M. DJ’s Lady Lloyd, Johnny Kalifornia and David Robson are playing one magical Madge hit after another, 10pm till 3am!

I love this lot! BUM.P // DAY PARTY // 2nd Edition starts at 3pm at Deviant & Dandy Brewery, E9. That’s Hackney Central, on Saturday 18th. Beginning with a life drawing class for an hour, they’re all the rage you know! And then from 4pm till midnight the party cranks up, with DJs and performances, including the return of Lady Cartel supported by Fiontasia.

From BUM.P to PUMP at the Dalston Superstore, who have special guest DJs Iulian Murariu, Strawberry K, The Meat Boys, Strawberry K and Neil Prince on, on 18th August from 9pm till 3am. The simply divine Taylor Trash will be hosting this very inclusive partay where everyone is invited to literally ‘pump’ the night away!

It’s called DIY Thursdays but it’s actually on Saturdays. On 18th August, join this legendary rock ‘n’ roll party with live bands and special guest DJs from 4pm onwards at Unit 30 Bow Triangle Business Centre E3.

Sunday takes on a whole new meaning when Sunday Funday is on at VFD! On the 19th, they have a theme – Summer Fun from 7:30pm, where the coolest basement becomes an experimental melting pot of fun! Shows, DJs and infinity pools till late!

Sunday Funday

Meanwhile, it’s time for the return of BingoBabes at The Glory this Sunday 19th! Hosted by Xnthony and joined by the captivating Crystal Beth and beauteous Barbs! They really will actually play bingo with you, calling out numbers, gifting you, making a general fuss and all for free!

Raunchy, provocative and lovable if you get my jist, our fave Christeene is in town and performing London on Thursday September 6th at The Dome in Tufnell Park!
