YIKES! Grindr security breach lets hackers see user’s exact location…

You know, it’s a little annoying when that Grindr hookup is almost a mile away, but you’re not sure if he’s easy to get to. He’s either in Central or way out in the other direction and getting to him would be one big ball-ache. Lucky for you, and very unlucky for him, a security breach over at Grindr means hackers could find user’s EXACT location (with a 6-16ft accuracy).

It has been reported that Grindr has known about this little glitch for a while but have yet to do anything to fix it. Hackers have been using a third party application called Fuckr (I mean… ok), which helps you uncover the locations of the nearest 600 Grindr profiles, and very conveniently pins those locations on a map.

Think about that terrifying profile whose messages you’ve been ignoring for the past three months, he could theoretically log onto this App and find out where you live. YEY! We know you weren’t planning on sleeping tonight anyway…

The platform Queer Europe tweeted out a terrifying video demmonstrating exactly how easy it is to aqcuire a profile’s location on Fuckr:

The demonstration shows a Grindr profile in Amsterdam, which is then tracked on the app and they are able to locate it on a map. They continue to show how the app allows you to filter through the entire database and apply filters to see where other profiles are.
