What’s everyone going on about this week? Is it all the creative stuff going on like all these shows and events like the Un-Royal Variety Show? Or is it the big build up to Halloween? Or is it the weather? I’ve just been told it’s the hottest October on record lols!
Well, let’s start off with a show created by and starring performer Fagulous who presents Theresa May’s Legs Akimbo: For The Money, Not The Few on Friday 19th at The Glory. Yes, following a sell out run earlier this year with a subject that just keeps giving, Fagulous – now known as ‘Britain’s leading Theresa May drag impersonator’ – embarks on the next crazy installment rich with entendré. With special guests Tracy Barlow, Lord Hicks and Ophelia Love. Show time 7:30pm on the dot!
Of course dears you really need to book yourselves in for Jonny Woo’s Un-Royal Variety 2018 on Friday 19th & Saturday 20th October at the Hackney Empire. A blockbuster of queer entertainment! Jonny Woo introduces the non-stop diversity our scene encompasses. From comedy stars to drag stars and the downright avant, this is going to be amazing!
This Saturday 20th, DIY Thursdays – which is actually on Saturdays – presents a Halloween Masked Ball Of Noise at Bow Business Triangle, Eleanor Street. Getting in early for all the spooky stuff! That means dress up because our host Lyndall loves a theme. This rock ‘n’ roll partay presents 3 live bands which are Junky Love, The Deep and Pussy Liquor. I’ll be DJing as well with residents and it all starts at 8pm and goes on till late!
At Femmetopia HQ this month, which is at VFD on Saturday 20th October it’s founder Kat’s birthday. So along with her mates DJing and performing all night long expect Mx Lucia, ACM band, Joey Fourr, Kata Youn, Waj Hussain causing a riot! From 9pm till 2am, performances at 10pm.
Having a lol at Zodiac Hotline at Dalston Superstore on Saturday 20th October where the theme is mystic realness with DJs Sonnikku, Mikki Most, Thrilogy, Chris Murdock & Matthew Josephs and Shay Malt from 9pm till 3am. Actual live readings on social media from celeb astrologer Daniel John Sansom. ‘A stunning soiree celebrating homosexuals’ obsession with the celestial coordinate system’! LOL!!!!
These raves are all the rage! Here’s one – Suckulence: Queer Rave with special DJ guest Boris on Saturday 20th October FOLD, Gillian House E16. Presented by Homodrop and Opulence, it’s a 12-hour queer techno fantasy. OMG! Bloomin’ heck join Boris, Chereiii, Ifeoluwa, Madison Moore, RKSS and Twang! 10pm till 10am.
This Monday night, The Gold Rush drag competition comes to its 7 week finale this Sunday 21st October at The Glory…reaching its conclusion with non-stop performance hosted by the divine Taylor Trash with a celeb panel of stars including John Sizzle, Meth, Felix Le Freak, Tracy Barlow, Sean Miley-Moore and Mary Poppers. Shows start from 6pm and go on till late!
