Look Good, Feel Gorgeous – A spotlight on Cliveden Spa

Working overtime, trying to squeeze in our social lives, a constant stream of notifications… It’s no secret that huge numbers of us experience stress from time to time. When it comes to taking a moment to ourselves, settling for that unopened Christmas bath set from your tight-arse sibling and lighting a scented candle from TK Maxx might seem like the easiest way to unwind. Ditch the dusty bathroom cabinet and immerse yourself in one of our favourite spa experiences; The Cliveden Spa at Cliveden House.

Like the Ancient Romans before us, men today have fully embraced entering hot, dark rooms to be massaged, scrubbed – hell, even given a facial – by strangers with magic hands as the perfect way to unwind.

But unlike our friends over at Chariots; The Cliveden Spa at Cliveden House (www.clivedenhouse.co.uk) offers a quintessential spa experience in the English country side (around 40mins from Central London).

Situated in the grounds of the renowned Cliveden House estate; Conde Naste Traveller recently voted Cliveden the UK’s best hotel and there’s no denying its grand credentials.

Cliveden has poured a multimillion investment into what has now become a highly impressive space, all light filled rooms of whites and neutrals and stylish deco-inspired touches.

Facilities

Featuring a listed outdoor pool as the centre piece in the enclosed garden, with iconic clock tower to your left and hot tubs to your right. The pool has a vast amount of sun loungers and two new hot tubs where you can enjoy the outdoors come rain or shine. Even on a chilly autumn day the walled garden is protected from the wind and always in the country sunshine. Inside, there’s another, very beautiful art deco-pool with a Jacuzzi and an infrared sauna and infused steam room, plus a small gym and guest space looking out onto the spa garden. The Spa Kitchen has an excellent range of trendy meals and juices. Choose from high protein salads to carb-laden jacket potatoes with all the fillings, juices and smoothies to keep you fitness fanatics happy! There is also a large selection of alcoholic beverages to down whilst lounging around the pool area.

Treatments

As you’d expect – massages, facials, body wraps, manicures/pedicures and even personal training sessions by the onsite PT who is extremely hot I may add! The treatment rooms are attractive, dimly lit with incredible water mattresses that feel so relaxing. There are loads of treatment packages here, and there’s certainly a pricey premium at Cliveden but if you really want to make the most of the spa, there’s a fantastic deal with the Dusk Delight – from 5pm-10pm, including 2 treatments (60 mins total) for £140. Plus you get to see the pool lit up at night and can seriously justify a cocktail in the main house afterwards.
