One of our fave venues is getting scary!
As you may have heard, it’s HALLOWEEN this weekend. In fact, this year, actual Halloween falls on a Wednesday, which of course means it’s going to be more extra than ever because people will use that as an excuse to party UNTIL WEDNESDAY. Ah well, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Other people’s partying keeps us in clean knickers!
One of our favourite places in the world to party, is the Eagle. It’s one of the city’s most established and best known venues, and has long been a haunt for the discerning homosexual gentlemen. In recent years, they’ve taken on the changing attitudes of the LGBT community with gusto, and now they’ve got a fabulous programming roster of nights for everyone.
The vibe inside is a great mix between effortlessly cool London gay bar, and Castro-esque cruisey 80s realness. And the crowd…the crowd! They actually talk to one another. They’re nice! And they like a dance as well! Weird innit. The smoking area is also great – well lit, warm and roomy.
Now, this was supposed to be about their Halloween programming but as usual we got distracted by our own enthusiasm (that happens to us in threesomes too, now you mention it). HALLOWEEN! It’s a thing. And the Eagle are providing celebrations of that thing, in CAULDRONLOADS.
First up, on Friday 26th, it’s the Loverush Haunted Halloween! Super duper DJ Mark Loverush is sauntering back to Eagle to kick off the Halloween weekend in sparkling style. Plus there’s a FIVE HUNDRED POUND cash prize for the best Halloween costume. FIVE HUNDRED QUID! That’s like…a lot! That’s a return flight to New York! Camp!
Then on Saturday, gorgeous Roy Inc arrives for a spooky edition of his notorious SOS night. The theme is Noche De Los Muertos, and the DJs are Terry T-Rex and Jeanie Crystal.
On the Sunday it is, of course, the inimitable, the unbeatable, Horse Meat Disco. With two of their trademark resident DJs Severino and Luke Howard, they’ll be celebrating Halloween by doing what Horse Meat Disco does best – joyous music and great vibes.
Loverush Halloween Haunted House Party is on Friday 26th October. 9pm – 4am. Free before 10pm, £6 after.
SOS – Noche De Los Muertos is on Saturday 27th October. 9pm – 4am. Free before 10pm, £6 after.
Horse Meat Disco Halloween is on Sunday 28th October. 9pm – 3am. £6 before 10pm, £8 after.
