Hi everyone! Oh, it’s all go isn’t it…

Time for an exhibition this week, as “Mavericks” by photographer Peter Ashworth officially launches on 16th November but there’s a private view on the evening 15th. It goes on till 8th December at the Lever Gallery, 153 Goswell Road and is a major retrospective of Peter Ashworth’s iconic fashion and music images over the 80’s and 90’s (think legends such Annie Lennox and Adam Ant), which are now being given an airing!

I’m pretty sure you’ve all been waiting for this…lols! Princess Julia’s Karaoke Award Ceremony 2018 at the Karaoke Hole, 95 Kingsland Road, 8pm till 2am on Thursday 15th. The fabulous Just May is joining me for an evening, where I will award commendations to the finest karaoke renditions of 2018…everyone’s a winner, don’t you know!

Over at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern it’s the The Art Of Drag Showcase on Thursday 15th. 12 students perform after 10 weeks of tutoring from cabaret star Michael Twaits. Show time 7:30pm, so get there early to see raw and burgeoning talent at its finest!

Feeling a bit bookish? Then head over to the ICA, where there’s a gathering called This Reads Queer on Friday 16th between 7pm-9pm. They say ‘This Reads Queer is a literature event that isn’t boring’. It’s presented by artist Richard Porter and writer Isabel Waidner who have an insightful evening planned with additional music provided by writer and DJ Charlie Porter. They also celebrate ‘A Queer Anthology of Rage’, the latest edition from Pilot Press, an independent publishing project.

Cult night Cybil’s House presents RED! on Saturday 17th from 10pm till 4am. Raising a bit of dosh, Cybil’s House ask you to wear red and #rocktheribbon for the National AIDS Trust for World Aids Day. Cybil War hosts and DJs and performances come from Nana, Rodent, Bourgeoise, HP Loveshaft and Saffron Slayer. DJs include Vivienne Mobile Disco, MSC$MSC, Grace Shush and it all takes place at the iconic White Swan on Commercial Road!

Pumping beats all night long at Bottom Heavy Vol III, at Dalston Superstore on Saturday 17th November with DJs Dan Beaumont and Wes Baggaley thumping the night away down below with their non-stop dance beats. Upstairs, Gay Garage and Jaye Ward DJ the bar from 9 till 4am. Plus gorgeous hosts Finn Love and Nubian D!

We love this amazing night with a huge legacy! Kaos XV Anniversary at Electrowerkz is on Saturday 17th November with a discerning roster of DJs… Phase Fatale, Vittorio, Dahc Dermur VIII and Choronzon, who provide the all encompassing soundtrack of hedonistic dance beats! 11pm till 7am!

If you’re up in time, get down to ShayShay’s Breakfast in Bed. They’re having a brunch DRAG SALE with Polly Amorous on Sunday 18th at Dalston Superstore from 12 midday till 4pm. You might think going out on a Monday is pushing it a bit, but VALUE PACK is proving hard to resist! It’s student night every Monday at Dalston Superstore from 9pm till 2am throughout November and December. On the 19th, it’s UK Garage Sale with DJ Ivana Joseph aka Melanin Monroe and on the 26th catch Indie Bargains with DJ Ben Charlie Smoke. Cheap drinks deals with student cards and wotnot!!!
