79 CXR KARAOKE

13/03/11: Cast aside any old aspersions about 79CXR that you’ve been carrying around like last year’s Gucci clutch. If you haven’t finished your weekend at the Charing Cross Road legend for a while, then, trust us, you’re certainly in for a big surprise. Sunday nights are heaving with an eclectic throng of young super-cuties, blokey muscled men, friendly bears, scally hotties, sexy suited and booted wonders divas, average Joe’s and drag divas. As soon as we shuffled through the doors at the start of the night, it was ram-packed! Tonight was the grand finale of the very successful karaoke competition and, despite the crowds; you couldn’t miss the grand entrance by our Bette. Miss Rinse sashayed down the stairs like the diva she is, rocking a darker hue rather than her usual gloriously garish gold tones. There was soon a big ol’ bitch-off between Ms Rinse and one of the celebrity judging panel – we’re going to leave you guessing as to who (should have been there, shouldn’t you, duckies!) We seriously thought it we were heading for a draggage brawl! There was a wide array of crooners, caterwaulers and finely tuned fellas who took to the stage. Third place went to Paul for his lovely Sinatra rendition, whilst actual real lady Katie gave a triumphant Bonnie Tyler. But it was the super-cute Aivo who bagged the £350 prize – yes, you read that right, £350 smackers!

The new karaoke competition (with prize money) starts later this year… I know I’ll be gargling with honey and lemon in preparation. These bitches at QX practically pay me in chocolate buttons!
