17/08/13: QX got into the thick of things for a merry time at Comptons as we checked out the grand Old Dame of Old Compton Street’s August beer festival last weekend.
Not only have the guys been offering tongue-tantalising beer tasting days, great value beer promotions, thrilling new beers and even wallet-friendly Nero-style points cards throughout the month, but they have also been serving up an exclusive Comptons Cox ale which, needless to say, is the sort of thing that goes down a treat with QX’s lager-loving lushes – of which we are many.
On top of all that there were stunning DJ sounds at ground level from the very talented Jo Publik to get us in that Saturday night mood, whilst upstairs there was barely room to swing a tankard of refreshing amber brew as the scintillating Soho crowds kept the summer spirit alive despite the decidedly (dare we say it?) autumnal conditions outside.
Meanwhile QX settled down into the snug behind the DJ box until the team finally persuaded us to leave at closing time with a promise that the beer festival would be continuing the next day (honest!) and right up to the end of this month. Catch it while you can!
