The beer and other spirits were flowing freely on Friday evening at Comptons Of Soho, the doyenne of Soho’s gay establishments, to indulge in the annual excuse for a piss-up that is St Patrick’s Day. Many a bearded wannabe leprechaun had gathered around the venerable bar to celebrate the life and work of the Emerald Isle’s patron saint in that most unholy of manners. The place was rammed, full of friendly and sexy hunks, kicking off a fun-filled weekend of revelry, or simply relaxing with their mates after a long week. The mood was enhanced by the ministrations of Zach Burns, presiding at the decks and spinning his very own anthemic selection of butt-shaking tunes. The night also marked the departure of the long- standing manager of Comptons Of Soho, Neil Hodgson, off to pastures new next month. We, at QX, raise a glass in fond farewell.
