12/08/12: After what can only be described as a fantastic 16 days of sporting prowess from some 205 countries for 960 medals with literally the whole nation forgetting it’s troubles and getting behind Team GB, we popped along to a bunting bedecked Ku Bar to watch the Closing Ceremony and ogle at some shirtless eye candy!
The ceremony was designed to showcase British music and be a sing-along for the audience, and at Ku Lisle Street it certainly was. From Queen’s ‘Radio Ga Ga’ to Oasis’ ‘Wonderwall’ and Annie Lennox’s ‘Little Bird’ to George Michael’s ‘Freedom’, the Ku Bar massed choir were in fine voice as they waited for the Spice Girls’ taxi promenade.
Trays of Olympic coloured shots and London 2012 goodies were up for grabs and the atmosphere was jubilant and fun – definitely the right choice at which to watch and enjoy it all.
