ManBar

15/11/13: Born on a beach in Goa, D.R.A.G. (Dressed As A Girl) is a cult film in the making taking its name from the Shakespearian stage direction for cross dressing, and in the tradition of such classics as Paris Is Burning and The Cockettes pulls off the wigs, wipes off the mascara and unveils the real people behind the much hyped and talked about alternative drag scene in East London.

Starring beloved icons such as Jonny Woo, Holestar, Scottee, Pia et al, the 4 year shoot has seen boob-a-thons, hospital wards, discos, emotional reunions, messed up make-up, passed out drag queens, ambulances and more sparkle than Liberace at a Cher concert.

Now in the final few furlongs of post production, the team last week launched their fundraising Kickstarter campaign at Manbar with an evening of dirty disco, tranny talent and general shenanigans in heels that left us bruised and knickerless in a Soho backstreet some eight hours later.

Chrissy Darling force-fed us shots, guvnor Chris Amos was celebrating his birthday with more hot boys than a Bel Ami reunion and the scorching gogos were throwing fire around like it was November 5th all over again. A good night all round I think you’ll agree.

If you want to be a part of British film history, head over to their Kickstarter page and donate some silver: bit.ly/d-r-a-g
