14/12/13: Everybody knows someone effected by cancer. And Cancer is a Drag is a brilliant idea from Diva Vera, who has dealt with cancer twice now, to raise money and support people living with cancer, because people living with it aren’t necessarily earning money so they need a little help to get them buy during treatment.
Cancer is a Drag partners with Macmillan Cancer Support and has hosted events across the city, this time it was Manbar’s turn to host the worthy cause.
Having a chorus line of drag acts on stage through the afternoon including Martha D’Artha, Baga Chipz, Son of a TuTu, Silver Summers and many more, all hosted by the one and only Bearded Lady.
It was a true cackle of laughs all afternoon, with fun and frolics, hiccups and mishaps, all entered in to the spirit of raising money.
If you haven’t been to a Cancer is a Drag event before, or Cabaret at Manbar, then I urge you to do so. It’s a barrel of laughs!
