MOLLY MOGGS

05/06/11:Small, yet perfectly formed, the gay West End’s tiniest bijou boozer, Molly Moggs, has been packing in the punters for years with good old fashioned cabaret, karaoke and first class hospitality. QX took shelter from a wet and windy Sunday evening for a riotous drag outing, starring the very venerable Dame Julie Paid alongside the UK’s first-ever official (Google it!) tranny forces sweetheart, Cookie Monstar. You may be worried that there’s not enough room to high-kick a size ten stiletto but these gals do London’s drag tradition proud, even whilst teetering atop a podium-sized stage. Featuring a cross-dressing classic repertoire of camp standards and raucous repartee, the crowd whooped their appreciation for torch songs, show tunes and Pat Butcher earrings, as the fun and thrills carried on ‘til way past our bedtimes! If you haven’t experienced the lively weekend atmosphere down at the ‘Moggs, then check it out this Sunday, as there’s cabaret all day. Plus a welcome return of their fabulous piano bar on Monday.
