POLAROID

20/09/12: Are Thursdays still the new Fridays? Or is that Wednesdays now? Would that make Thursdays the new Saturdays?

Whilst this could all get very confusing quite quickly, we prefer to stick to one simple message: Thursdays are all about Polaroid at New Bloomsbury Set. Fresh from launching their delicious Friday and Saturday nighters with DJ hotness Sharif and the lovely, larger-than-life Barbara Bush respectively, Thursday evenings take things distinctly retro.

Polaroid is all about 70s funk and disco mixed with 80s pop classics, all served up with a cheeky grin from DJ Mark, with retro television commercials plastered across antique telly screens and your chance to sample a tipple that your folks used to knock back in the glitter years.

The crowd are more likely to be born in the 70s and 80s rather than remember the decade, featuring a tasty dollop of hot twenty and thirtysomethings either boogying the night away or squirreling themselves in the cushioned enclaves if the disco dance moves prove too challenging.

Our favourite thing about NBS is how warm and welcoming it is. From the door lady to the bar staff, the mix of regulars and randoms always makes for a ridiculously fun and friendly night out – where else can you do a tipsy version of ‘the robot’ with two people you only met ten minutes before? Get yer flares on, it’s fabulous!
