THE VICTORIA

27/07/13: After being caught in a torrential storm on Saturday night in just shorts and a vest and contemplating the tube journey to Walthamstow, we did what any self-respecting gays would do and changed our outfits on a double decker bus – which was static, thankfully. ALWAYS carry a change of clothes, gays!

No one wants to turn up to the next party looking like the creature from the Blue Lagoon.

We were at The Victoria to celebrate guv’nor Paul and Candy Slag in Drag’s birthday. They wouldn’t tell us how old they were this year, but a little birdie did say they gave up trying to get all the candles on the cake, simply because there was nothing to reinforce it with!

A night of camp entertainment was laid on for the Walthamstow massive, opening with Mandy Gap followed by the flawless West country beauty, Adora Dix and the very talented, Topsie Redfern – who is still looking for a husband! Come on guys, there must be a Prince Charming out there who wants her ring on their finger.

Our most memorable moment? We’re not sure we’ll ever be able to erase the image out of our minds of Candy writhing up and down the crotch of a poor, unsuspecting Eastern European guy – fag in one hand, vodka in the other. She’s outrageous that one. That’s why we love her so much!

We always have a cracking night at The Victoria, filled with good cheer, friendly punters and a non-attitude atmosphere. The celebrations carried on well into the ‘morning’, as is standard out East, and there were many heavy heads come Sunday morning. It was worth every blinking second of the hangover, though! ‘Happy Birthday’ Paul and Candy, from all at QX Towers!
