20/04/11: It takes balls to stand up in front of a crowd of gay men and get your top off if you’re gay, let alone straight. But that’s exactly what gorgeous straight rugby God, Ben Cohen did down at Sarf London’s Two Brewers last Wednesday. Mr. Cohen has been an avid supporter of us gayers for years now and tonight’s event was a fundraiser for his Acceptance Tour. Wearing the brand new I Stand Up with Ben Cohen T-shirt – in support of combating homophobia and bullying – the man himself arrived to thunderous applause and cheers. Auctioning the shirt literally off his back, his AussieBum undies and various other bits of kit, big Ben raised some serious cash for the cause. Hosted by our very own rugger buggers, the King’s Cross Steelers, the event featured a stellar line up of cabaret too, including star turns from Sandra, Kandi Kane Baxter and Mandy Gap. Afterwards Ben told QX how absolutely blown away he was by the response. What a man. What a night. Brilliant, Ben!
