03/03/12: Going out with a BANG! After many fabulous years John Ward laid down his rusty sheriff’s badge at one of the best venues on the west side of London, West 5. Packed to the rafters, West 5 was party popping all night long celebrating John’s tenure at the award winning venue.

02/03/12: As, undoubtedly, the promoter who has raised the most £££ for HIV/AIDS charities over the past couple of years, Jeremy Joseph is always looking for new ways to engage his customers and prise the change from their pockets for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

18/02/12: Now, I’m no stranger to the gorge surrounds of New Bloomsbury Set, but it had been far too long since I headed over to one of my favourite bars.

18/02/12: Picture it. Soho. February 1992. Kurt Cobain was riding the grunge wave to his doom, The Golden Girls were recording their last ever episode [salute], The Queen was just about to embark on her ‘Annus Horribilis’ and a new out ‘n’ proud gay bar was opening on the corner of Soho Square, soon to be frequented by the original generation of hardcore ravers, dropping by for their pre-gurnfest drinkage. 

14/02/12: OK, so the Valentine’s cards from mystery suitors this year weren’t exactly inundating us like those overfilled sacks of competition entry postcards that they used to get on Blue Peter back in da day (what we affectionately refer to in the QX office as “the 90s”).

07/02/12: On a freezing Tuesday night we headed towards Heathrow, no not to take a flight, but to stop by the wonderful Windsor Castle pub in Hounslow, to check out the fun and frivolities on offer.

11/02/12: Everyone loves a birthday party, and Compton’s stalwart Neil Hodgson is no exception. Turning the big 4-0, Saturday night saw plenty of happy returns with nearly a thousand people coming to celebrate with the birthday boy.

Celebrating 20 years as one of Soho’s finest cocktail and dance bars, The Edge has witnessed a fair few changes in the venue itself and the wider Soho scene over the last two decades. Ahead of the anniversary celebrations, Lee Dalloway decided to find out a bit more about the homosexual-leaning corner bar…

04/02/12: London’s weekend blizzard proved no match for a rollicking crowd of bent boozers as QX donned our snowshoes for an epic trudge across the frozen King’s Cross tundra to Central Station’s 20th birthday bash last Saturday.

There’s a brand new gay bar into the West End that plans to send the hearts of us homosexual drinkers/party lovers all of a flutter. We spoke to Blitz’s Business Development Coach Ilyas Kirkan and Blitz promoter Brent Nichols to tell us more about the sassy new venue…
