CAMBRIA - MISS KIMBERLEY’S SUNDAY CABARET

CAMBRIA – MISS KIMBERLEY’S SUNDAY CABARET

19/12/10: It’s rare I venture down to Sarf London these days – the parole officer was most strict about how far the ankle tag will let one go from one’s gaff. But when we heard about Miss Kimberley’s raucous Sunday cabaret at one of our favourite bars, we knew it was time to free ourselves from the shackles of an authoritarian regime. I mean, honestly, when did a spot of mild date rape become so serious? It was just before Christmas when fellow degenerate Cell Block H-ers John, Chad, Alana and I headed over for the Sunday afternoon soiree upstairs in the function room. Poor Alana couldn’t quite balance her gin and cigarette whilst tottering over the icy Sarf London streets – well, she is 85. Downstairs may have been dotted with local yummy mummies and babies crooning carols, but upstairs was decadently decorated and full to bursting with hungry homoxials. The food was more than just your average pub grub fare. Absolutely delicious Sunday roasts blended seamlessly with their expert chef’s fresh slant on traditional gastro pub eats. There are even vegetarian alternatives – your non-meat eating pals may not have the strength to lift their head up through lack of iron, but at least they can still join in the fun. After dinner, a stunning Miss Kimberly wowed the crowd with a madcap, energetic performance of songs and audience participation. Then, avant garde performeress extraordinare Jonny Woo proved he’s just as fabulous outside of his Shoreditch comfort zone, causing the post-dinner crowd to whoop with delight at his chaotic stripping/singing/sexual antics. Divine.

Bored on a Sunday watching the Eastenders omnibus? Why the fuck aren’t you at Cambria?!

PS: The Sunday cabaret returns this weekend, and it’s the gaffer Steve’s birthday too.
