Kurt Cobain was riding the grunge wave to his doom, The Golden Girls were recording their last ever episode [salute], The Queen was just about to embark on her ‘Annus Horribilis’ and a new out ‘n’ proud gay bar was opening on the corner of Soho Square, soon to be frequented by the original generation of hardcore ravers, dropping by for their pre-gurnfest drinkage.
Celebrating 20 years as one of Soho’s finest cocktail and dance bars, The Edge has witnessed a fair few changes in the venue itself and the wider Soho scene over the last two decades. Ahead of the anniversary celebrations, Lee Dalloway decided to find out a bit more about the homosexual-leaning corner bar…
