Soho Bars New Years Eve
31/12/14: Soho Bars New Years Eve
Manbar 2nd birthday
18/10/14: The QX bar whores took on the glamour and glitz of London’s fabulous West End last Saturday as Manbar threw a weekend-long birthday celebration marking two fantastic years entertaining the masses.
Hombre @ ManBar
04/07/14: The QX bar whores hit central London for a sizzling instalment of Manbar’s Hombre as the West End went wacko for Saturday night shenanigans last weekend.
Soho Easter Bars Round-Up
18-21/04/14: With all the shiny adverts, bells and whistles that accompany the arrival to our shores of various visiting continental mega clubs, it is very easy to become complacent and forget just how lucky we are to have the breadth and diversity of permanent gay venues right here in the city that are open day-in and day-out, come rain or shine.
05/04/14: QX hit the centre of town in support of one of London’s fave homosexual hangouts last weekend as Manbar upped the ante in its continuing struggle against Westminster Council’s threat of closure.
02/03/14: …and the Oscar goes to... Manbar! GENRE, Manbar’s feature film and shorts night rocketed to stardom with the launch of its new Sunday night cinema, GENRE and the Gay London Film Club, on Oscar night, of course!
Manbar: Cancer is a Drag
14/12/13: Everybody knows someone effected by cancer. And Cancer is a Drag is a brilliant idea from Diva Vera, who has dealt with cancer twice now, to raise money and support people living with cancer, because people living with it aren’t necessarily earning money so they need a little help to get them buy during treatment.
15/11/13: Born on a beach in Goa, D.R.A.G. (Dressed As A Girl) is a cult film in the making taking its name from the Shakespearian stage direction for cross dressing, and in the tradition of such classics as Paris Is Burning and The Cockettes pulls off the wigs, wipes off the mascara and unveils the real people behind the much hyped and talked about alternative drag scene in East London.
MYRA DUBOIS’S SUNDAY SCHOOL
06/10/13: There is nothing particularly restful about Sundays out there in cabaret-land. It’s the day when revellers, who are partial to a sequin or five hundred, venture out in their droves to their favourite afternoon/evening of kitsch entertainment, determined to squeeze every last drop out of the weekend, and to do it in style.
30/09/13: Now under new gay ownership and management, ManBar on Charing Cross Road is going through a few changes so we popped along last Friday to make sure we weren’t missing out!
12/07/13: There’s always an excuse to go bar hoppin’ through Soho with something to celebrate. This week it was the fact that we’d become an official degree holder (although for some reason, none the wiser). To celebrate, we decided to pop in and give the friendly folk at Manbar a visit.
21/06/13: QX got macho for a sultry summer’s evening in the heart of London’s fashionable West End as Manbar threw open the doors for a torrid soiree that had guys pouring through the doors ‘til late last Friday.
03/04/13: After a very large Easter weekend, by Wednesday we were definitely in recovery mode and so we headed down to Manbar for a touch of nostalgia at Revival.
04/02/13: When the hangover on Sunday morning hit like a punch from a heavy weight boxer, we swore February would be the month of detox.
12/01/13: After spending this week browsing the latest looks on the runway at Men’s Fashion Week, while we were having major fashgasms (that’s orgasms over fashion), we decided that it would be much more fun to be wrapped up in a jock, than it would be a jacket this winter.
