08/08/2015: 4a.m. on a Saturday morning and while the rest of London sleeps there is one place in London that’s just waking up; Vauxhall!
I made my way to one of Orange Nation’s longest running success stories A:M, which is now being held at the newest part of the Fire complex, Protocol. I was met at the Lightbox entrance by a most charming hostess, Louise Port, who makes me and all the late night clubbers feel very welcome. I was struck by how gorgeous the decor is in Protocol, dark leather-based interior design, which feels both classy and comfortable.
The first bar has a ‘chill out’ feel and sexy staff, which I noticed when we were served by Dan, their gorgeous new bartender. As I headed into the main room I was hit by the heat of a rockin’ dance floor. Half naked party boys of all ages and nationalities were dancing with their cool ‘fag hag’ friends. International celebrity DJ D’Johnny was behind the decks wowing the crowd with his latest Deep house mixes and bootlegs.
We were joined by promoter Mikele as the next DJ takes to the decks, the very glamorous Yvette Lindquist, who kept with the deep house vibe but added some more nostalgic funky tracks to lift the crowd. 8am and I left the club in daylight while the rest of the Vauxhall Massive partied on til’ 11am!
