27/08/16: With its unique concoction of the cheesiest and sweetest tunes (we don’t recommend you try that one on Mary Berry though), BABEZ at Bloc Bar up in Camden is always a special guilty pleasure to be enjoyed without the slightest moderation.
And somehow the crew behind the night managed to make it even more sweet and even more special for this bank holiday weekend. In addition to the delectable tunes of resident DJs Beary Carey and Dom Top, they had laid out a choice cut for our thirsty enjoyment.
This delightful amuse-gueule was so yummy that it proved all too much for one member of the very queer audience, who decided, we’re told, to set their pubes on fire, to register their delight, no doubt.
As a special guest the team had lined up Celebrity Big Brother’s Austin Armacost, who was making his DJ debut with the BABEZ family, spinning all our old favourites. We nearly reached for the lighter ourselves. In the end we only had one tune going round in our head: Drop some sugar in our bowl, babe!
