21/03/14: In these days of austerity, and despite ministerial reassurances that we are coming out of recession, we love a bargain and so last Friday at Dalston Superstore was a godsend with their generous 2-4-1 club offer.
In the basement, Banjee Boy Realness regulars Josh Caffe and Capracara were joined by the legendary Smokin’ Jo spinning US house, garage and techno to a mixed crowd of bearded Hoxtonites and dragged-up ghetto glam lovelies… And to give you a flavour, Kevin Aviance’s ‘Cunty’ was the opening track! Perfection.
Meanwhile, up on the top deck Nancy’s delivered their regular Friday night of disco, pop, house and party bumps to a packed room that needed no encouragement to let their weave down and partee.
With a raft of trusted and über fabulous vinyl junkies on call, the lovely Jeffery Hinton was on duty tonight whipping his hair back and forth while friends and scene celebs from every corner of town popped in to pay homage. DS Fridays are ROCKING.
