Beyond

22/11/15: In the wee hours of a beautiful but very cold, crisp Sunday morning, the musical mega-church that is the Ministry of Sound opened its doors to its regular congregation of Beyond worshippers.

Most of them that day were muscle boys arriving from the sister club Fire in Vauxhall. They were joined by members of other segments of the London scene (hipsters, bears, and even a few stray straights) also unable to call it a night (or day at that time).

None of them would have been disappointed. We certainly weren’t: superfit go-go dancers soon took the stage to crank up the already electrified atmosphere of the main room a notch, and Fat Tony was on hand to keep everyone buzzing with his tunes.

Spare a thought, though, for the poor fag hag we spotted, who clearly wanted to go home but whose sexy gay friend had pulled and just couldn’t tear himself from either the dance floor or his new beau. “Just a little bit longer, darling, please, I promise, we’re having so much fun! you’re an angel! mwah.” It’s fair to say that the angel, like the rest of us, will be grateful for the coming week and the chance to get over such a night…till next weekend.
