13/03/11: The time had come! The career of the much-admired DJ who had given us our strong love for music was coming to an end. Alan K, known for his mind blowing outrageous sets which kept us moving ‘til the end absolutely smashed it last Sunday with his last ever gig. The atmosphere was immense, the main room was chocker and clubbers where everywhere holding up banners entitled “we will miss you” (including me) with some even crying. It was emotional, in fact words cannot even begin to describe his last set, he blew the roof off. Meanwhile, DJs Hifi Sean, Paul Christian, Douguim, The Oli, D’Johnny and Fat Tony to name but a few were rocking the other two rooms. And as you can imagine, Shaun Capewell and Electra Paris went all out creating a spectacular replica of Alice in Wonderland with stunning costumes and the tea party layout on stage – very impressive. But it really was about the main room, it was alive, the music was pumping, the lights were flashing and the co2 gas cannons were in full action. After great DJ sets from Mikey D and Alan K, The Sharp Boys gave us a fantastic end to what is was known as a touching yet staggering Beyond. Alan K, I dedicate this to you. “Best of Luck sunshine.”
