BLACK & WHITE BALL

BLACK & WHITE BALL

24/03/11: Can it really be ten years since Shadow Lounge opened its doors? What’s more worrying is that: (a) we actually remember blagging our ticket to the opening party, for this was long before our days at QX; and (b) we are officially amongst those queens who can say “I was there at the opening party…”

Still my saving grace is that the passing decade has been kind, even if my actions over the years have been close to morally corrupt and bordering on the indecent every time I sashay through its doors… and subsequently stumble out. So, to kick off the beginning of the club’s 10th birthday celebrations, last Thursday they held a Black & White Ball for members and guests, featuring the decadent pop and dance sounds of Dusty O, Mark Bambach and a special burlesque performance by Miss Kimberley. We swung in, swigged the cocktails and swung our tushes on the dance floor like it was 2001 again, and left in a suitably bedraggled state just like we did back in the day. We are both simultaneously worried and somewhat relieved that times have not changed and that we can still work a dancefloor like we once did. But why change the habit of a lifetime? Keep your eyes peeled in QX for further news of Shadow Lounge’s impending 10th birthday events.
