Blocheads

27/09/14: To celebrate their first birthday, London’s dance powerstation This Is Electric, took over East Bloc with a power surge of heavy tunes, hot boys and hard dancing at our favourite bangin’ basement’s regular end of the month all-nighter!

Regular TIE radio host and Dish dynamo Borja Peña was joined by a shockingly good lineup including Paul Heron, Simon Le Vans, Johnny Kalifornia & Louis Robinson, as well as special Electric guest Eliot, who all flipped the switch on a non-stop beats generator and kept the birthday revelers jolting with power until the sun came up.

Meanwhile, in that down and dirty backroom, our Blocheads trinity of Andrew Moore, Ursula Snakes and Ray Noir reminded us why they’re the hottest residents around with three sets of thumping house and dark electro (as well as a special remix of Ray’s single ‘Double Trouble’ produced by Tom Stephan).

There were even some cheeky gifts on the door, with the birthday boys giving out handy This is Electric pen lights, perfect for checking whether that man mountain we were climbing in the dark corners of the club was actually as handsome as we thought… ah well. At least his muscles still looked good.

Thanks Blocheads, it was (of course) Electric! Here’s to next year!
