BRÜT London Pride

25/06/16: We’re no specialists but we tend to labour under the impression that the life of a gogo dancer on the gay scene is one of untrammelled admiration: the hallowed existence of unattainable demigods amidst lowly mortals.

So, we couldn’t help but feel a little sad and concerned for the two lovely gogos in action at Brüt #21 this week-end. Not that their pulchritudinous gyrating forms – all rippling, hairy muscles – weren’t a delight to the eyes of the beholder, but, if one is to be totally fair, the show was as much on the dance floor as it was on the podiums.

A sea of beauteous blokes, all more hunky than the other, had flooded the darkened vaults of the Steelyard to carry on the Pride celebrations in style. Even the DJs were in on the act, it seemed.

Not content to spin their beats, Tom Stephan and his fine figure, or Richard Harrington and his tattooed arms and impressive beard, seemed unconcerned with adding to the already stiff visual competition for our poor dancers.

Whatever their thoughts on the subject, thought, they managed to bear their ordeal stoically. We, certainly, weren’t complaining.
