CARO EMERALD @ G-A-Y

02/11/13: After the high (or low, depending on your point of view) point of Gaga getting her arse out on stage last week, this week’s G-A-Y was a little more subdued – but none the less fabulous – as no less than two performers threatened to break their waters on the hallowed boards.

First up were Miss Dynamix with a pregnant SeSe, X Factor’s 3rd evictees, who actually sounded a lot better live than they ever did on the telly as they powered and giggled their way through Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’, Taylor Swift’s ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ and Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Don’t You Worry Child’.

Next up was the (apparently) Shocking (and preggers) Miss Caro Emerald, the effortlessly glamorous Dutch jazz singer currently taking the UK by storm. In her native Netherlands her first album, ‘Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor’ spent 30 weeks at number 1 beating Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ and her long awaited 2nd album, ‘The Shocking Miss Emerald’ shot to number 1 in the UK album charts.

With the feel of a retro smoky Parisian bistro, she gave us five gorgeous numbers as well as her new single ‘I Belong To You’ which, Barbara Broccoli if you are reading, is a fabulous soaring Bond-esque theme tune. An unusual choice for the main stage at G-A-Y but inspired and brilliant.
